I think the difference between Cali and other states is that Cali has actual hood areas that’s mostly Asian people (i.e. Funktown in Oakland). Other cities might have a token Asian in the hood who’s invited to the cookout on some white mike status. Or other places have Asian gangs but not whole ass areas that could be classified as majority Asian ghetto areas.
That’s why I can’t take most “hood” Asians seriously that’s not from Cali because most the time they literally not from the hood or from somewhere where people who look like them actually get active.
Just like how I think brehitos who rep Cali gangs in safe suburban areas like Northern Virginia suburban Long Island who ain’t never been to Cali are clowns too.

My parents are friends with this married couple and the husband is Asian. I remember when I was young the husband called the house a couple times to speak to my pops and I thought he was black
I already knew the wife since I was a little kid but I finally met the husband at my hs graduation cookout. When I was introduced to him and saw he was Asian I was like
I found out he grew up in the east Baltimore trenches off Monument street. I was in shock becuz for like a decade I just assumed he was black based off his voice.
