Olsen is using hindsight bias to criticize the lack of timeout. I agree with Lafleur r not using it because now they have three timeouts in this drive instead of two.

Let's say they had used the timeout prior to third down, but the Niners picked up the first down and then had been able to run out the clock on the next set of downs, that would have been worse than what is going on now.
