Lemme find the stat that shows the amount of potential assists Cade and this team should have but don’t because besides Bojan Stew and Sasser, nobody can shoot for fukking shyt

Okay so I’m not a Pistons fan, but for whatever reason I’ve marched maybe 50% of their games this season.

Cade is a very good player. Like really good. But also I can’t tell how much better he’s going to be because of the trash around him. His flaws are his athleticism, shooting and defending. He desperately needs a decent team or luck to get better at the latter 2 which can be worked on.

Someone here said he will never be a #1 on a title team. Dawg, they can’t even win a game and you here talking chips. That’s where I know any criticism of him regarding that is weird shyt. Thread is about if he’s their problem, smh.

In the games I’ve seen, I quickly realised NBA teams are professional af. Sometimes, I would think they would just freestyle it, but no every team prepares against even Detroit. It’s all based around Cade. Build a wall, trap and double (hence the high TOs) and force him to pass the ball or shoot tough and late jumpers. He has almost no winning help. Duren and Ivey have been big disappointments, but none of their games align with one another due to the scheme, and rest of the team.

I haven’t seen as much of Jalen Green as I should, which is a shame because I should watch Sengun’s Rockets more, but from what I have seen, yeah he's going to be nothing more than just a microwave scorer - an unreliable one. Give me someone like Jordan Clarkson who knows he’s that, or Cam Thomas who’s more reliable any day of the week ahead of him for comparison.

He is the only player on that team that can create anything at any reasonable starting NBA level. He also isn't an amazing athlete so all the creation he is doing is pure skill level on top of the fact that the type of talent on the team actively hurts his skill expression. Despite that he is still putting in work to try and lead this dog franchise and you have this Jalen Green stan making a thread blaming him. Lets not talk about Tari Eason about to take ya mans spot. Poor mans Clarksons career in Houston is finished

Jalen Green legit one of the worst starters in the league. Jordan Poole 2.0

My thing is, I didn’t mind tanking last year. Cade getting surgery gave them a pass. This year? The whole “evaluate what we have” on a 17 win team with a goofy new coach was them being scared to commit. Even moderately talented nba players would look great rn next to Cade Duren and even Ivey/Ausar. Max Strus left Miami for the Cavs, Oubre signed dirt cheap from Charlotte to Philly, Rui Hachimura went for dirt cheap at the deadline last year to the lakers.

Weaver is a moron and the entire organization is stupid. I get being gun shy after the Blake griffin situation but that was four years ago.

Oh ya'll want Rui?

Stewart and Bogan would get that done for you.

Will even throw in Dlo and take that bum Killian Hayes from you.

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
They have way too much talent to be THIS bad. Meanwhile the only one who seems to get a pass and hasn’t changed his play style is Cade. He’s the leader. On paper he is playing well but is he making his teammates better

Ive seen this happen with “Bron Ball” only difference is Cade doesn’t have the power to trade his entire team away mid season :banderas:

and who would come to Detroit after all this anyways :manny:

Maybe Cade has to change, not the Pistons :jbhmm:
They were not this bad without him.

The league as a whole got better and they were very bad without him

Team won 17 games and 3 of them came with Cade early in the year. After they traded Saddiq Bey only 2 more wins happened that year. So without Cade and Bey, they won 2 games pretty much. The roster is awful. Too many bigs with the only two that can defend being stew who is undersized and Duren who is young and stays hurt

Zero wings.

I hope that Pistons fans and management do know that teams are going to try and swindle them out of picks due to how desperate they are to get better.
a whole lot of talk about cade needs help but they ain't stopping anybody - and with all that length on the court, there's really zero excuse to fail at holding a team under 110 for damn near a month

Pistons don’t even control their own frp lol

Like if you really pay attention and look into these last four seasons what the gm and dumb as owner have been doing you will see how 100 little moves and things they did since 2020 has led to this. Blaming Cade who would easily be an all star this year on pretty much every other team is childish and they picked the perfect scapegoat because knowing how Mobley/Jalen Green behave, they would have asked for a trade or been bytching way more with how they would have been mishandled unlike Cade who just wants to win games and try and lead an actual team
