I'm sure they buy, keep it in their name and hand her the keys with the expectation that she is available when they need her.Off topic a bit but when people “buy” cars for other people is it out right? Financed or leased? If leased they have to give give it back tho
This actually isn't weird at all. I've known people that got thousands of dollars in tips and gifts for baby sitting or providing in home care for elderly parents of wealthy families. If they really like you they have no problem showering you with gifts to show appreciation.
