Wherever whores go.....
You got to be fukking kidding if you dont see a big difference. Yes some movies look very similar to the DVD version, but thats because its probably an older movie that wasnt shot in HD.

In Dallas, From Cleveland
to me its very similar to the difference between HD TV and SD TV....

Its not a big deal if you haven't been watching them before.

But once you start watching BLu Rays in HD, its hard to go back to watching regular DVDs

It's a difference but a movie is a movie. If you want the newest up to date technology of course its the way to go . If not then stick with regular DVD's.

All movies are "technically" HD. But digital film has been used alot more these days.

Listen to ldog hes a expert at this subject
What this bytch nikka said... Nah, there isn't a major difference.
Unless your TV is 52inches or bigger? 1080p isn't a MUST HAVE
The other thing is ppl act like a smaller TV at 720p isn't equal to 1080p on a bigger TV.. But it is.
They sell 1080p 22in TV's but that is beyond retarded since it wouldn't look different than a 720p TV at that size. The contrast ratios is what would determine the difference in quality, not the resolution. That is the most important thing to look for, contrast ratios. The higher the better...
HDMI or component cables actually...
yeah cuz component works fantastic with blu-ray :stopitslime:

Another genius on this topic. Bruh, how many movies you think have been shot in HD cameras? I'll save you the time, about 150 or so. Not even that much unless they really went hard over the last year and a half :hula:
You brought up a great point with that. We gotta remember here, Hollywood wasn't asking for Blu-ray. Sony was trying to push a medium, blu-ray is about money, not consumer demand. That's why everything is trickling in. It's also the reason the ps3 was $600 at launch. Now ya know...
I can't even watch DVDs anymore.
:stopitslime:
I guess when you guys watch TV your like :snoop: "I'll just wait for the box set"

If you have it hooked up right...then it's worth it. Some movies aint worth it though if there is a big price difference...

Movies like Avatar, 300, and Apocolypto are totally worth it...

heavy dramas which have nothing to really do with cinematogrphy and visual effects really aren't any different.

One good thing about Blu Rays though is that they have a much larger storage capacity.

So for example...my movie Goodfellas and Casino are long movies...I have the DVD versions from like 2006...and you have to flip them over and use both sides. Blu Rays though you don't have to do that.
