My dentist cleans my teeth. In fact, it's only him and another dentist that he works with and neither has assistants or hygentists. They even fill out the insurance paperwork themselves.

Also, both my dentist and orthodontist are Black and graduated from Howard's School of Dentistry

Mine does and he’s a beast, I actually had a root canal with no anesthesia. Dude was like “hmm I think I can get that” you know I had to trust this guy. He pull out the whole deal nerve, showed it too me and clean/ sealed it up. Didn’t numb me at all and I felt like no pain.

I had my cleaning done by a hygienist and she didn't numb me, felt like a torture session and i kinda see where the idea that medical professionals think black people can withstand pain. There is so much tech progress in the medical sector over the years and yet these guys come in with a bunch of tools that look like medieval torture devices.
