The minimum Criteria for Admission are:
- Bachelor of Science or Arts degree
- GPA: 2.85
- Total Science GPA: 2.85
- DAT: 18 (in each of the eight categories)
Qualifications | College of Dentistry | Howard University
That’s one school. If that’s your argument then use Howard as your example; don’t use one school as a total representation of all dental schools. You also have to understand (and respect) why Howard (HBCU) qualifications are lower compared to other schools.
Some of the stuff I read on this site, man. . Look up the minimum requirements for medical and dental schools (the vast majority) and you will see that they are usually quite low, look at actual stats and you will see that it is extremely uncommon for applicants to get in with the minimum scores.
For the slow folks. Your ass is almost certainly not getting in to medical/dental school with a schools minimum requirements.There is a surplus of qualified applicants every year and for med school specifically you are a really are a borderline applicant with an MCAT score of 70th percentile, which is about what the average applicant has. Now, many schools have minimums of 40th percentile scores, because they know those people could do the work but usually have averages around the 80% percentile for all test takers.
