If Tarantio wasn't such a racist and focused on the absurdity of a white woman outfighting the samurai in their own area of expertise when it made no sense then O-Ren Ishii, Lucy Liu's character would be a better story and possible heroine.

Because she saw her parents get slaughtered and took revenge.

In general though Sarah Conner is much better than Beatrix since she was basically the blueprint for all other heroines after her.

Motivation makes a hero. Sarah Connor was doing what she thought she had to do to save billions of lives. She ultimately didn't kill the innocent man, who had not committed aand found another way to save everyone.

The Bride was just getting personal retribution. The Bride was a murderer for hire who decided to stop because she got pregnant and didn't want to tell the father, who was also a murderer for hire. The father tried to kill her for ghosting him and failed.


No one is saved or has a better life due to getting revenge. Even her daughter isn't necessarily better off. She's being taken away from the father that raised her for years, as an apparently loving parent, to be with a woman that she had never met. Her actions were purely selfish and that's why she's not a hero.
