I’ll say he is was one of the most overrated.

his playoff numbers are horrendous..

he’s basically the first And1 player in the nfl

You see this talk about Barry Sanders being pretty much just an "And 1" NFL player?

I won't say I remember his early playoff performances, but even if you go by the game logs, it appears his playoff "woes" are over-stated.

Barry Sanders Career Game Log | Pro-Football-Reference.com

1991:

-Twelve rushes at 5.7ypc. Detroit blew the Cowboys out.
-Eleven rushes for 44 yards, with the Lions abandoning the run against the Redskins in a game the Lions got blown out.

1993:

-27 carries for 169 yards against the Packers in a 28-24 game. A great rushing performance.

1994:

-13 rushes with -1 yards against the Packers. Clearly a dismal performance.

1995:

-10 rushes for 40 yards in a game where the Lions let up 58 points.

1997:

-18 rushes for 65 yards against the Bucs.

Teams figured it out stack the box, go all in on containing Barry, collect your W

People always say what if Barry was surrounded with the team Emmitt had, but I always thought Marino and Sanders needed each other. Like each one was what the other never had throughout their career.

It came down to, who do you want to beat you: Barry Sanders or Erik Kramer/Dave Kreig/Scott Mitchell?
