Is anyone else happy and in disbelief at how fast movies go to DVD nowadays? lol

These young kids just don't know how bad it was back in the days. Movies use to take like 8 to 10 months before it was on home video.
the lotr movies were the worst..they'd come out in dec in theatres and you'd have to wait til like late november for the DVD. they'd whet your appetite for the next installment coming a few weeks later. but at least they had a shyt load of features.. nowadays movies come out on bluray in 2 or 3 months and have no features.. word to wolf of wall street

I remember Christmas movies would take a whole year to get released on video. :beli: at waiting a whole year to see Jingle All The Way on video. What's really crazy is how quick movies are hitting HBO, Starz and other channels. Best Man Holiday was on HBO yesterday and it came out in November. I remember it used to take a whole year to do that

I actually discovered SOHH because of your legendary megaupload thread :wow:

I was in that thread a whole month before I even realized this was a hip hop forum.
Yeah, I never go to the main site. These new movies are for the kids though.

HBO does that too. releases Game of Thrones like a month before the new season.

like what?

i listened to a podcast recently, reviewing 2001 Space Oddessy & they said it stayed in theatres for 4 YEARS!!! :mindblown:

btw great podcast if you like movie reviews it's called Now Playing, they do new & old movies, retrospectives of the entire series and the opinions are great IMO, look it up on itunes.
