America has the best food due to the fact we have numerous cultures and ethnicities bringing on their recipes and such further expanding the American palate.

The problem is that most of our best is also comprised of some of the most unhealthiest dishes and sometimes considered as junk food 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Making fun of America's food and pretending McDonald's is our standard is like a running joke for many but we have the best and wider palate due to all the diverse cultures it's just usually on the unhealthy and junk food-ish side of things 🤷🏾‍♀️.

A lot of what we would or could consider American food comes from France

definitely fries

probably burgers/cheese burgers

steak and fries

that's like 75% of American food right there. Missing maybe hot dogs? Chicken fried steak?

Majority of what we consider fast food has German roots... since they are largest ethnic group in America... the Culinary and Gastronomy History of the American palate you can follow migration patterns of the German and see their ppl food practices (butchering techniques and curing/preserving) that followed some are even included in Soul Food... French not so much since we never truly as a country had a French immigration that really was ever strong... French Culinary practices are seen of course in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and North Florida... while Germanic is damn near the entire midwest, ahotspots in the tri states and strong ties to Texas BBQ which has a combo of Black American, Mexican, Germanic, and Scandinavian influences.

French food is delicious. What makes French cuisine French is usually more about the technique in the way it's prepared

Difficult to compare but breakfast wise:

French toast and Crepes are >> American style pancakes

Don’t care what google image shows you. France has some of the best restaurants in the world.

America does too though:yeshrug:. New York, California, Chicago, Vegas.

And let's be real, a lot of that French food looks overly complicated. Give me some Caribbean food over French all day.

You have to look at the background of white Americans. It's all really the same when you realize most consist of Italian, Irish, and German descent. Only those with a British background really can't cook.

A lot of it is pretentious though. Give me Carribean cuisine over everything.

You’re talking about how food looks. Not from experience. And of all of the top restaurants in the U.S. what percentage of them represent “American” cuisine?

White Americans are decendents of British, German, Irish, Italian, and French.
