He doesn't do the drumless shyt as much as he did back in 2012-2013. Sure a whole tape of his will prolly have 1-2 joints like that out of 10, but that's his lane now. Those joints are hit or miss to me, but to act like he never uses drums anymore is a damn lie

No Alch slander. Top 5 producer, and unlike everyone else in my top 5 (RZA, Premo, etc) he never fell off.

Alc is in my top 5 or 6 depending on certain factors, but he most definitely has had dry spells and fall off episodes.

99-2004 Alchemist had potential to be considered the GOAT producer period. That Alc period is light years ahead of anything he's done in any other stretch of times. And he's had plenty of clunkers, where before, if Alc produced it, it was a guaranteed banger before you even pressed play.

Yeah even the beats he did on Evidence albums have drums.
This is just 2 off top of the head from his last album

For sure he's had weaker periods than others. He's in my personal favorite top 5 of all time and my overall top 10 of all time. I do give him a lot of credit for being active for his entire 20+ year run in the game and not really having any epic fall offs. Like you said he's had some dry spells and weak points, but most legendary producers have had serious fall offs that they either never recovered from, or sometimes took years to come back from. Also, he's one of the only people to be in the game that long and evolve their sound without falling off drastically or having their efforts to sound different panned. Dilla (who is arguably the best pure beatmaker ever) successfully changed his sound a lot (even more than Alc) and is one of the only producers to pull off so many different styles effortlessly. Madlib can do a lot of different styles successfully also.

Exactly. I honestly think a lot of people just pick on a narrative and repeat it without doing the homework.

Also, plenty of RZA classics have light to no drums but still knock.I've never heard anyone complain about these.

Album has some strong ass songs and some moments where you thought it was gonna be a classic but there's enough weak beats to say that's a negative.

You listen to his discography you'll also come across some serious skipping moments
Not to mention Alchemist did less than half the beats on Special Edition.

I also like the fact that he does some shyt with minimal drums. Gotta mix shyt up. I could see people having an issue with him on a project not having a beat or two with this kinda knock but thats more about having an issue with the EPing than the actual beats.

Alc been fell off and i cant stand daringer either..thats why conway stuck in the mud like over half his ish is no drums just sample..boring as hell and has no replay value..alchemist fell off bad he used to be top 5-7 to me but i cant remember the last real banger from him its been so long...all these bum rapper projects now he does shows hes washed
:scust:

To me he was at an all-time level from 2000 to 2004

He had a mini slump from 2005 to 2007 before Return of the mac

He was top 10-15 ish from 2007 to 2010 ish

He got back on the top 5 producer in the game level again once he produced Covert Coup which was one of the best project to drop this decade sonically.
