'97 is another year that gets universally praised, at least from what I've seen.
The Gang Warz were pretty awful save for a few moments and the undercard in general was BLEAK. They had to have the Austin/HBK/Harts/Undertaker pretty much eat up about 85% of Raw every week cuz most of the remaining roster wasn't hitting on shyt.

2000? Na 99 is when both companies started slinging shyt and watering down a great thing. Prime AE was 96-99. After that it struggled but wm 17 and 18 were big big big time hits. Wm 16 aka 2000 was the worst wm since 9 at the time.

Dude, what else did you need.

You've got The Rock, Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, & The Undertaker all in their prime at the same fukkin' time.

Plus, you've got an emerging HHH & Chyna, you got Brian Pillman, Vader, Owen Hart, Ken Shamrock, Goldust, and a shytload of stuff in the midcard.

Rocky Maivia was nowhere close to his prime :russ: He didn't even start The Rock character until the night after Survivor Series. And Mick had only *just* started hitting his stride as a character, he was still a year away.

That's why I said *most* of the mid card was trash, you had a couple of bright spots but those PPV cards were usually fast forward material.
