In terms of raw passing acumen, Cousins is up there. Cam is a better deep passer and has a better arm to match, so his numbers will look better but he's not that much better than Cousins in terms of pure passing ability. I'm talking about footwork, read efficacy, anticipation, etc. It was only last year Cam started playing really well. A lot of what Cam is able to do in the passing game is because of his athleticism and arm strength.
Nope. If you actually follow Cam's develop from middle of the pack to mvp, it has all to do with his improved reading of the defense, audibling, anticipation. If a lot of what Cam did was because of athleticism and arm strength, you would not see such a huge jump in TDs from last season to this Season. You just have no idea what you're talking about.
You should include: line audibles/reading the defence
I took read efficiency as how the qb reads his receiving options, like how Kaepernick once he sees that his number one receiver is covered he runs the ball, where as an elite quarterback will look to their third and fourth options upon reading the coverageThanks for reading.Read Efficacy is tantamount to reading the defence. I think I'll change the term to your suggestion to make things easier to understand. Audibles is a little hard to figure out though.

Yeah true, especially because some team's audibles and shifts are a lot harder to pick up on TV than others. Maybe a football iq category?Yeah, that's what it is. I edited my post above to reflect what you are saying. You're talking about presnap reads. I think it's a little hard from to couch to know what QBs actually read coverages and adjust better than other QBs. Post snap reading ability is easier to interpret because QBs move their heads around and look for options if they're good.
