It looks alright. Still not much to say about this movie after this trailer, although I saw one guy on Youtube say that Nolan is the Kubrick of our time and I've never felt a stronger wish to be able to punch a man through a computer screen.

But that has nothing to do with the movie so y'know... :yeshrug:
2001 A Space Odyssey is one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. I never got the Kubrick hype :manny:

Looks like the spiritual successor to Contact.

Can't wait to see Neil DeGawd Tyson analyze this flick like he did Gravity.

IMO kubrick gets his props as a director moreso from a technical standpoint .. though i enjoy most of his movies.. the cinematography on 2001 is insane and it looks like it was made today other than the ape suits.. i loved clockwork orange

I thought Inception was boring (decent, but boring) and TDKR was massively disappointing, but putting that aside, I hate it when people compare directors Kubrick. He's not even one of my favorite directors but that man was a innovator pur sang who literally changed the game on how films are made. As far as I consider it there are maybe five directors in the history of film that deserve to be given that same kind of status, and being a great director with a strong filmography isn't nearly enough to be up there. See also: when M. Night Shyamalan was being compared to Hitchcock. Extreme example, but some legacies shouldn't be up for comparison until long after we have all the facts.

Looks a little too Spielbergian with the whole little girl and very Kurbrick once they got up to space. I'm there but the trailer didn't blow me away. They better only be on earth for like 30 minutes, 40 tops. They better not try to make the space part the very end, real talk. But when it comes to original concepts, I trust Nolan in whatever he does. The cast is strong, the visuals look great. It drops in November so this is going to be some winter piff. Can't wait.

Directors of these types of movies should really hire dude as an consultant
Interstellar is based on a treatment that was written by Kip Thorne, one of the worlds top theoretical physicists and long time science breh of Hawking and Carl Sagan. Of course the Nolan Bros. are gonna take artistic license with it, but the very foundation of the story is from as reputable a source as possible.
