This dumb hypothetical you dudes bring up is stupid. A person on a submarine wouldn't buy a digital console in the first place dummy. How would they even download a game? Do you guys think or do you just skim through it?
You're missing the sarcasm.
"What about people in submarines" is mocking the faux outrage Sony stans had when the XBOX One was revealed and they said it required an internet connection.
Sony stans came up with all manner of super specific hypotheticals to clown the always online requirement which in the end forced MS to fall back and rethink the requirement.

Console makers are pissing in y'all face when it comes to game preservation and backwards compatibility and the consumer does nothing except for opening up wide and saying "I want more"

It's sickening.

Except you're missing the point, "Sony stans" weren't the ones that made up that ridiculous hypothetical back then and furthermore it was in 2013, over a decade ago where having to be online 24/7 was a potential prerequisite for even USING the system let alone needing a camera to validate the user(kinect).

It would be like having a Windows computer not allowing you to log in to your computer unless your Windows Hello authenticated you and you were connected to the internet. No internet=no login. It was perfectly valid to express discontent with that. Being online 24/7 as a result of modern day conveniences is fine and all but then not being able to even use the system at all, even booting games without an online connection even though there are tons of SP games is ridiculous and my stance on that hasn't changed.

Even PC fanboys would find it wild if Steam rendered their game library unplayable unless they were connected online because things happens (extenuating circumstances). Every game isn't Apex/Warzone.

I'm not letting no dusty Xbots rewrite history

Hard pill to swallow but if the consumers are consuming it then they don't care about it as much as you would want them to. You're talking about game preservation when the average consumer isn't even concerned enough about climate change which could eventually kill them

Game perseveration when people refuse to play Bloodborne at 30fps on ps5 :deadrose:
