But we are not going to sit here and say pulling out a gun on another man who's offering you the fade with his fists up is anything but p*ssy shyt. That shyt wouldn't fly in any culture in any time period but modern society. As most likely know, shooting unarmed men is routinely excused in our society.

Stupid? Arguably. Toxic? Definitely. Fighting a another man on as equal terms as possible is staple in masculinity. Weight classes in combat sports exist for this very reason. And I never expect fair ones from ppl outside of the gym. Most are built to actually take a punch let alone lose a fight.

When fighting anyone you are making a lot of assumptions that things will go right, and/or your opponent is honorable. Most of the time it won't go how you go it planned. How many times have we seen on WorldStar, a guy gets knocked out, and the winner proceeds to kick and stomp the knocked out person in the head. That can cause permanent brain damage. How about the guy you fight is HIV positive and he bites you? What if his boys decide to jump you if their friend is losing? Anytime you get into a physical altercation, it can turn deadly, especially if it's with someone you don't know (thus could care less if you live or die).

Best option is to try to talk it out. I'm not above apologizing and admitting I'm wrong to diffuse situations. If I can't do that, walk away. If person won't let you walk away, then defend yourself by any means.

It was obvious in this video that the aggressor was not going to allow the shooter to walk away, as he kept coming forward even with a gun pointed at him.

Exactly and to expand on your point on the knife. Say the man with the gun puts it down to fade, who is to say the the aggressor won’t pick up the gun himself. I always assume everyone I run across from men to women has a firearm. At least in red states it feels like that.
