I’m not really sure what to say but if shorty is smart enough to skip three grades I definitely believe she’s smart enough to still go to FIU and get her degree so she can have the resources that single motherhood demands.

Horribly counterintuitive to a new pregrant woman. They are a mess of hormones and liable to get post partum depression.



Shame is fine beforehand, but after a child is conceived it may lead the irrational mother to off herself or off the child or both. And this is in addition to the irrationality of most teenagers.

That is the outcome a parent wants the least. So its moreso a matter of damage control than teaching a lesson for that poor mother.

Intelligence comes in many forms. She was intelligent enough to skip ahead in school, but not intelligent enough to foresee the consequences of having sex as a teenager. The lack of emotional control of young people, means parents need to be extra-vigilent and also informative on the consequences of actions. So keep your children active in interesting wholesome activities, while also maintaining a watch on whom they surround themselves with as friends.

Even doing the above, some will slip through the cracks. Yet, putting in that effort as a parent drastically reduces the chances of your children ending up being teenage parents. So it should be all about reducing the possibility of a mishap, not allowing that possibility to arise with parental inattention or, even worse, neglect.

Teenagers having sex is one thing, but you have to be mentally retarded to have sex without protection at that age. Condoms aren't that expensive.
