Your just have to hope for the best statement suggests that you would relinquish your duty as a parent, and just hope. I raised two women to adulthood along with my wife. So I am not talking from a lack of experience. A parent active in their children's lives drastically reduces mishaps in their children's lives. A parent who is passively using hope and assumes nothing can be done to mitigate a problem increases the chances that such a mishap will occur.

I am a bit amazed that you focused on that small portion of my statement to make yours. I took you for being a bit more perceptive and intelligent than that.

My mom's was double promoted and went to Michigan State at 17 (July birthday). If the crack epidemic didn't catch her she would probably be worth a couple million right now.

Got clean in 2000, got her nursing license back, and now owns a 300,000$ house 5 minutes away from my town house.

Congrats to this young lady. None of that other shyt is any of my business. My mom's was smart as hell and so was my pops, so I'm highly educated. My brother's pops is Maserati Rick and bro is a fake ass wanna be flashy nikka who wears fake ass jewelry, still smart as hell book wise. Lil sis pops had ZERO book smarts, but lil sis is hella educated.

I think intelligence is definitely passed down, so good for that young lady. If she dies things right her kids will have a similar level of intelligence.

My lil sis pops is a good dude, but hella uneducated. Lil sis is just as smart as the rest of us. She is the only one who has both parents in her life though. My bro pops was killed inside of a hospital in 88, I didn't meet my pops until I was 14, and that was before my mom's got clean and moved back to Detroit.

I don't think environment has as big of an impact on intelligence if the parents were highly educated. Or at least 1 of them.
