A little bit of research on prison sentences should clue you in on why we have more in prison , but less committing crime.

The black / rest of america wealth gap has not improved even with increased integration and so called improved economy.

That's not really my argument here, I'm saying we haven't grown economically in all this time since all of these laws have enacted to desegregate us but our wealth and businesses have also diminished with desegregation playing a part in it. I agree though, in ways we're still segregated.
