Instead of crying about Wayne, why don't these "crab in a barrel" Louisiana dudes ask about Branford & Wynton Marsalis for the Super Bowl?

Marsalis Brothers are from New Orleans and have been not only performing but active in education and preserving the history of the music we commonly call jazz.

Past SBs in New Orleans have featured tributes to Mardi Gras, tributes to Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, performances by Ella Fitzgerald, Lionel Hampton, Pete Fountain.

Why aren't they talking about giving these men their flowers?

:jbhmm:
Because there's no audience for it, at least not during a SB halftime. They'd be perfect for the crowd at Monterey Jazz drinking merlot and eating brie, but not appropriate for the antsy masses drinking Modelo and chowing wings.

Of course they deserve flowers, they are true perseveres of our unique American culture, but the complexity of jazz is best appreciated with enough time and a like-minded environment to savor the nuisance. Like a great meal or lazy afternoon at the park with a Mosley novel.

The SB crowd wants simple entertainment with the possibility of drama - just like in the game. Although many may enjoy 'Take the A Train', especially if they never heard it, the halftime show is more suited for catchy jingles, ' They Not Like Us' fits the bill. Like an In-N-Out double-double, quick, no-nonsense, delicious and digestable before kickoff.

If there was this much uproar from the community everytime republicans tried to enact strict voting laws or gerry mander majority black voting districts to dilute black voting power then black people in society would be way better off, there are far important issues than this, enough.
The trick is to translate policies into hip hop beef

Breh before Michael Jackson showed up the halftime show was a bunch of wack ass marching bands.

Even after Michael Jackson, they had a country music showcase and an Indiana Jones themed presentation with Tony Bennett and Patti Labelle as cameo characters. It's been random more often than not.

But the Superbowl is a global event watched by hundreds of millions. Halftime show acts are usually instantly recognisable and much more exciting than those acts you mentioned.

Lil Wayne lost my respect when I found out he switches his persona around white people. He starts tap dancing and saying anything to impress them.

He's spineless and stands for nothing. We got enough of that. Let Jay Z and his camp keep choosing SB acts because they've done a great job so far. More black performers in 4 years than any other four year span.

And Fukk Nicki Minaj and her unstable, plastic azz
The Super Bowl is not a global event

Nobody trying to drain all the energy of a football game by hearing Jazz during halftime, and I'm a fan of them.
