I work in food safety, first thing I saw was hair out and lack of gloves…

I miss those old BK chicken tenders with the black pepper on them :banderas:

I used to eat those everyday, with fries and a Dutch apple pie when I worked there in HS…miss that metabolism too lol

Still like their original chicken sammich every now and again…:yeshrug:

Times were so much simpler then. Menu didn’t have all this bullcrap on it…burgers, chicken and fish sammiches, fries, sodas, dessert…now they make tacos and hotdogs at these establishments with the burgers…no cellphones and I’m sure that ball pit and play area was a death trap, but it was OUR deathtrap lmbo

American Nostalgia is a sickness
It really is because folks cherry pick the good from back then, ignore the bad and focus only on the bad in current times and ignore the good. shyt is hilarious.

*steps off soapbox*

I wonder what the portion sizes were like back in 1988.

The people in this video -- customers and employees -- look fairly fit....at least when comparing to 2023.
The country didn't focus so much on fast food back then as opposed to now. It really was more of a treat thing. I'll concede that to the Old Fart Crowd.

But 95% of the time they're full of shyt. And this is coming from someone who is knocking on the age where folks start in with the 'back in my day' bs. Females were getting fukked over. There was dirty music. Women were easy and some were prudes. There were drugs. Not every rapper had flow. There was most definitely crime. It wasn't all good like folks try to paint it.

I'd say 99% of the time nostalgia isn't really missing the time period so much as missing a time when they had less bills and responsibilities. If you listen to them half the time they'll even admit this in a subtle way. They miss a time when life wasn't kicking their ass.

Tl;dr don't get married or knock anybody up and you won't have to pine for the 'good old days' because they'll never leave you.

Americans less happy today than 30 years ago: study

ROME (Reuters Life!) - Americans are less happy today than they were 30 years ago thanks to longer working hours and a deterioration in the quality of their relationships with friends and neighbors, according to an Italian study.

this article links to more studies showing adults being less happy (the people who speak about the past with fondness)

Life was more simple in those days.
You cant discount only worrying about your neighborhood and the people in your life.

Most people cannot handle the information age...
...wasting time on news stories about shyt on the other side of the country.

Would I want to go back?
Nope.
but that doesnt mean there wasnt aspects of the past that were better.

Everyone taking their time, clean receptive atmosphere, no phones, no cameras recording, no homeless people posted up with an old dirty empty multipurpose water cup/mobile bathroom, no soggy lettuce on the whoppers, no one screaming at each other, you can actually get the burger your way cooked to order without it taking an extra 20 mins and an assigned number, the fries probably don’t smell like they were cooked in a vat of piss

What happened to American culture?

The same chick at the register was later making sandwiches with her bare hands around the 4:22 mark

the best falafel I ever had was in old jerusalem in the arab quarter. Went to this hole in the wall and the same guy that would take your cash would make your falafel with his bare hands. I was like :picard: but looked around all these arabs just like
