Neither one of those shows are in the GOAT conversation. Not for plot, or impact, or trailblazing, or innovation.
Insecure is the equivalent of Eddie George RB career. He was a really good RB, but he aint Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, or even Derrick Henry.
Hell nah. Here we go, tell me what the GOAT-tier black sitcoms are, and what made them that to you...
You cant really omit Insecure and black•ish from that GOAT tier. They were absolutely innovative in an era (mid-to-late 2010s) where there wasn't a ton of black-themed television, its not like the watered down 90s that had 1000 black shows that all you nighas gas up...
And the plot lines weren't fantastic? black•ish was a well-to-do suburban black family finding their footing in white society...
Let me guess, it was different with overrated ass Cosby Show though, right?
Insecure literally told the story of modern late 20s/early 30s career black singles, and what every day life is like for them. Do not even try to tell me Living Single or Girlfriends told that story better...
Based off the names alone it seemed like new age tomfoolery so I never gave them any play.
You tripping fam, give them a spin. Especially the first several seasons of both, them shyts opened up on legend status...
Blackish and House of Payne are modern day classics
Can't agree on House Of Payne!
