The Great One

Finish sounded really good to me
So our main event last month in Rahway,NJ got worldwide main stream press. ROH decided to run our building today and drew 220 people and it ended with the fans litering the ring with legit garbage showing their displeasure with the show, especially the ending. Good job ROH you fn dipshyts.
Finish sounded really good to me
In context, it makes no damn sense to have a finish like that.
Why would you book a confusing no contest (from the reports, no one knew wtf was going on) involving the hometown boy on a non-tv show to build towards Final Battle? Why book it when your fan base is already pissed at you because of past fukk ups?
Because they want to save the match until Final Battle, and the fact that Steen attacked Lethal's parents and he couldn't beat him adds to to their match. It also has MANY people talking about it on the internet today, which no one was talking about that show before right? I men it's called a buildup. The fact it was in Lethal's hometown adds even more heat.
I mean damn, booking 101 here.
I still hate what ROH has become as it is trash now, but this sounded fine. Not great, but fine with what they are now.
I get what they were trying to do. I just don't believe it was the time to do something like that. They didn't get the right kind of heat, people weren't pissed at Steen, they were pissed at ROH. That's not a good thing, specially when their fan base is getting smaller and smaller as time goes by. I just don't think people are gonna be more interested in Final Battle because of this.
On top of all of that, the fans they pissed off are some of the same fans that would be going to Final Battle in which you could make a case that Manhattan is their base for now. The finish was a good idea but not there and not now.
To be honest my dude, I had zero interest in Final Battle this year, and this maybe upped me to 5% interest lol so they did something.I get what they were trying to do. I just don't believe it was the time to do something like that. They didn't get the right kind of heat, people weren't pissed at Steen, they were pissed at ROH. BIG CHANGE TO ROH CREATIVE
By Mike Johnson on 2012-10-08 11:50:00
Hunter "Delirious" Johnson has taken over as the head of Ring of Honor's creative direction effective immediately. The ROH locker room was informed on Saturday at the promotion's Rahway, NJ debut.
Jim Cornette and ROH came to a mutual decision on the change I am told. Cornette will remain with the company in a backstage role and will assist Johnson as well as working on production and logistics.
Cornette will be written out of ROH storylines with an angle where he was attacked backstage by an irate Jay Lethal in the fallout of the no contest with Kevin Steen in Rahway. ROH will be running stories on their website to explain the changes with Cornette's exit from his authority figure role.
