Baby steps.

You don't want to be on iPPV with like 30 people in the crowd. See if you can put on good shows and draw, then do iPPV.

Oh yeah, and Edge is there if I remember correctly. That might have something to do with it, depending on his contract status.

they should fill poughkeepsie, it's always been a hot wrestlingtown

i think Edge is just doing autograph signings, maybe there's more to it though

To my knowledge Edge's contract expired the same week that Brock and Cena fought. He has no obligations to anyone and is a free agent.

The first ippv should be when they crown a champion not before.

I have heard about it, they want to start off small and build, which is the way to go. I mean, you can't just debut on ippv, who the fukk is gonna buy it?

I mean I would have to PAY to watch Tommy Dreamer wrestler :whoa:

Also, indy wrestling is just way down right now. There aren't real guys sticking out, and kids these days are not dreaming of being wrestlers anymore. People are looking at it as a way to make money, not a passion for it, like the hardys had, or christian/edge had or even that bland fagat CM punk had.

A big hangup in Edge re-signing with WWE is they want to control his schedule, and not let him do whatever he wants, for example, this indy show.

yeah the card doesn't look too hot.

Glad that London & Kendrick are wrestling, but that's about it

I guess RF and Tommy are playing it safe for now, but with RF bitterness at ROH I have to figure he wants to go after them eventually

Rob Feinstein Roh that's still around??? No buzz at all get rid of the r and replace it with an h

It's not even that. The level of talent on the indies is very low as well. Everyone worth a damn in this cycle has either been snapped up by WWE and TNA, never will be signed by either (Kevin Steen, Davey Richards) or are just outright passe (as good as they are, guys like The Young Bucks and TJ Perkins are in this category). When you're hyping Sami Callihan and Adam Cole as two of the three hottest guys or so, you have problems, since even the best aren't as complete as someone like a Nigel McGuinness (who may or may not be the least of the best of the last generation, if that makes any sense) was.

This might change in a couple years, but right now, there's just not much there to be excited about in the indies.

That's what I thought.

Because most of these guys were born or started watching wrestling in the days of shock value and downside guarantees. They dont have the hustle of the older guys because there isnt much to lose. They train for four months in some cases with a horrible trainer (Adam Cole) and make the most of what they have.

These young cats didnt grind like the older ones and the quality shows. I dont think Sami and Cole are that bad honestly but for every one of them, you get a CZW roster. The last two big pickups left in the indy pool (that dont reguarly go to japan or are signed elsewhere) are the Briscoes and Eddie Edwards and Edwards basically as a trainer as a guy who "gets it".

Ill say this though, give Kyle O'Reilly 18 months. If he doesnt become Davey Richards Jr. (very likely) he can be legit.

I mean that's basically what I said, guys aren't sticking out, they suck. For example, my MI indy scene has been in a huge rut for the last 5 years or so, people are getting lazy and not caring. I call it the Punk Effect.:o:

Main Event time. Defending ROH Champion Kevin Steen against hometown boy Jay Lethal. For as many Steen shirts I saw throughout the night, Jay Lethal had the crowd 85-15 in favor of him. This match was incredible and got a ton of time. Crowd was alive for the whole match which is expected. Lethal hit the Lethal Injection on Steen, but Steen kicked out and then would later hit the Lethal Injection, but Steen rolled out of the ring. This is where it all went wrong. After Steen rolls out of the ring, he goes into one of the corner barricades where Jay Lethal's parents are sitting. He starts talking a bit of trash and then Lethal's mom throws her soda in his face. Steen spits on her and that's when Lethal went chaotic. Jay starts pounding on Steen as Cornette (who was at ringside for this match), Corino & Jacobs, ring crew, and others start to break things up. Of course there were pull-away, someone escapes and attacks the other moments. Steen goes up the ramp and starts tearing down the curtain and then exits with the rest of Scum. Lethal throws one of the ring crew guys and referees, chairs; he just goes ballistic. He yells at Cornette (couldn't make out what he was saying) and then escorts his parents out of the building. He comes back to ringside and nothing's happening. EXTREMELY loud "Bulls***" chants as Lethal proceeds up the ramp. No one knows what's going on until Bobby Cruise goes on the microphone and announces that the match is ruled a No Contest, apologizes for the language exchanged by Steen and Lethal, and reminds the fans that tickets are on sale for Final Battle in New York City.

That's when the crowd starts rebelling. More "Bulls***" chants and a ton of bottles and trash start getting thrown into the ring. People start chanting "REFUND! REFUND!" as Cornette and company exit. I saw a few people trying to throw chairs into the ringside area as well. I overheard fans saying "F this company", "I'm done" as well as other expletive filled rants. NO ONE was happy with this ending and honestly, I was too. How does Ring of Honor think that having a No Contest result with the hometown boy in the World Title match will be good business? Everyone left with a negative attitude and ROH's "build" to a possible Steen/Lethal rematch at Final Battle has completely backfired.

Overall, although I enjoyed the show, I and everyone in attendance were left with a VERY bad taste in our mouths. I really just don't understand the logic of doing that finish in Jay Lethal's backyard. I honestly can't imagine ROH running this market for awhile after the finish (or lack thereof) of the main event.

If they did this finish anywhere else it would have worked better. Steen should have gone over through heavy cheating and did the angle AFTER the match. Cornette is old school he knows better than this... or is this Delirious' fault?
