SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Neel Kashkari's announcement last week that he is running for governor makes him the latest Californian of Indian descent to step onto the political stage in one of the nation's most ethnically diverse states.

While Sikh Californians have been farming in California's Central Valley for nearly a century, the last couple of decades have brought a wave of technology workers and entrepreneurs into Silicon Valley. The 40-year-old Kashkari, a Republican, says tapping into the Indian donor base will be key to his campaign, although many are Democrats.

The growing roster of politicians includes Congressman Ami Bera and Attorney General Kamala Harris, both Democrats.

Democrat Ro Khanna and Republican Vanila Singh are seeking a San Francisco Bay Area congressional seat and attorney Harmeet Dhillon is vice-chairwoman of the California GOP.

They are the wealthiest immigrant group, I believe, and Hindus specifically are the highest earners of any religious group per capita, so this isn't too surprising. I'm sure Dems and Repubs are fighting over them, too, for that reason.

Not surprised, they make a huge number of our engineers, doctors, dentists, and software developers. Of course they're influential. These guys are taking up all the white collar jobs.

They got Dinesh tho brehs :damn:

The facts of the case remain hazy: The indictment states that D’Souza reimbursed associates who donated $20,000 to a campaign and also caused the campaign to misreport the source of its contributions. It appears likely that the candidate in question was Wendy Long, an underfunded challenger to New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand – and like D’Souza, a veteran of the Dartmouth conservative scene.

The few I know personally are very conservative, and I haven't even heard of asians voting or discussing politics like that tbh :yeshrug:
But I'll take your word for it :ehh:

Check the stats from last election. Asians pretty much everywhere voted overwhelmingly for Obama. They are steadily becoming more liberal, but it only happened over the last decade or so.
