Damn.. yall act like you have the answers to everything, sounding like a dumb as shyt, know-it-all. First, food banks are limited in resources. Do you really think there are endless supplies of food being distributed to no end? Food Banks only distribute food items on specific days during the week. Most of the time the food is prepacked and limited to basic rice and grain items, canned food. The family name is put on a list for pick up. In some cases, it's once a week, during limited hours. Food Stamps - Not everyone can qualify for food stamps, there are income restrictions- that's the reason why most public schools offer 'free lunch' options. In addition, the value of food stamps for a family of 3-4, is not enough to last throughout the whole month in some cases. Families without proper nutritional education think that by purchasing cheaper items, they save more- most of the cheaper items are cost effective but not necessarily healthy or have nutritional value. There's a reason why a 12 pack of coke or sprite is $3.00 while a gallon container of orange juice is $6.00. The sugar cereals (froot loops, lucky charms) are 2 for $5.00 but a healthier option like Raisin Bran Crunch is $5.00 by itself. These corporations know that poor or reduced income people are looking to stretch their dollars and push that content on them. "Other assistance Programs".. what other assistance programs?? Yeah, because the US and state governments are making it their first priority to distribute massive amounts of income to the poor. You have all the answers.. what are the specifics..?
Dumpster Diving??? yeah... feed your kid unsanitary food from the garbage, literally. A garbage with contaminants, piss, shyt, tampons, pads, used condoms.. and whatever else could be in there. Throw away all health and plenty edible.. "edible".. how the fuk is it edible if they throw it away? Most food items are prepared at distribution centers and then sent to the local stores. The stores have shipping and receiving areas. So your dumb ass thinks these store managers are just letting people congregate en masse to pick up whatever leftovers they have in food items. I hate people like you.. always passing judgment and thinking every option is a simple solution. and btw, don't respond with some smart azz stereotypical comment or deflection bc I'm not the one. I've experienced both sides of the have and have nots; I know what the deal is.
