I thought was a good vid. It did make me think about the guy who played david's dad. I never even looked at his character as offensive. I actually never even thought about him either way.


Maybe like patrice said SOMETIMES other races really dont understand when they have a black character looking fukd up.

Also how can they leave the most glaring plot hole of the movie. They fact that a 95 version of Macintosh can comunicate, develop a virus, and install on alien technology. Them bytches couldnt even connect right with a windows 95 computer

It was a "summer blockbuster" movie.

But given the great movies that were released in 1994, Independence Day isn't even worth mentioning.

came out in 96 not 94.

loved it as a kid

every time i've tried to watch it since it doesn't hold my interest as much.. i still like it though

Movie Aliens always get beat by plot holes. Take a look at Signs, why the hell would you wanna invade a planet that 70's percent covered in water, when that can kill you. Or War ofthe Worlds, spend thousands of years in the ground planning invasion and get beat by the common cold.

But in the seven minutes of cut scenes included in the extended release Independence Day DVD, Goldblum is actually shown tinkering with his PowerBook inside the recovered craft from the Roswell crash site, mumbling something about how the spaceship was running off the same programming language he was able to decipher before (when he first uncovered their invasion plans and all that).

So, he presumably worked from there and was able to code some disruptive program and translate it into their language or whatever. It's still flimsy as hell, but it at least proves the filmmakers were aware of and willing to address the problem, thus defusing a decade and a half of pent-up nerd-rage.
