Sad to say but most people regardless of gender have issues with using other people. There’s lots of reasons for this (society, technology, etc) but more people now days are less self-reliant, more lonely, more insecure, and more likely to use others to try and fill needs that only they can truly take care of themselves.

People are essentially self-medicating with other people.
