You can’t post photos, likely taken by a professional photographer, of black families and compare that to YouTube videos of entertainment. The better comparison would be to post the entertainment options during that time period versus now if you want to make that argument.
But to your larger point I think fear was a huge motivator for blacks post-slavery. We had to build and maintain with very little outside help. The evolutionary pressures coupled with strong religious beliefs built the Rosewoods and Tulsas. Ironically, the more integrated and “multiracial” our society became the worse it became for descendants of slavery and their kids and on and on.
White conservatives want to bring back those evolutionary pressures and religious ties. White liberals want to atone for those pressures via “woke” policies. The question is what is actually better for black people and as a whole do we really know ourselves?
