In the 80's the other coasts had to use profanity as a gimmick to stand out from NYC dominance.

In here you listed who was selling, and they didn't cross your mind...you grasping at straws, fam.
But while you bullchittin about who in NYC was going plat, JJ Fad came out and laid all y'all down and NYC been trying to play catch up ever since

But I'm not playing the "who went platinum first" game." Thats u changing the topic. I dont care about the "who went platinum?" game. NYC went platinum first regardless of who was managing them....Now that we got that out the way is there anything u have to contribute to the actual topic in the OP? Because if not, there's some rocks u can kick.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
The fukked up part is. As much as I hate this coastal war shyt. It’s really hard for me to disagree with this. Them nikkas used profanity to damn near parody levels at one point. shyt I used to laugh at the song “If We All..” on the Dogg Food album because of how ridiculously obscene it was. Lol.

You do care about that "platinum" game because you're who brought it up. Lol

But since you wanna lie, we'll do it like this:

If your title is true and in the 80's other coasts 'had to' use profanity as a gimmick to stand out from NYC 'dominance'"...

1. What about the NYC artists who used profanity? Were they doing it just to "stand out" from their NYC contemporaries?

2. Why did more NYC artists start cussing after their non-dominance instead of just being who they were?

Now u just lying. Post #70 u are quoting me telling another poster he went of topic talking about who was going platinum. So now u just lying for the sake of lying.

1. Wasn't no parental advisory levels of profanity In the 80's NYC hip hop like what 2 Live Crew and NWA were doing...thats a fact.

2. Azie from Mobbstyle broke all that shyt down in the Mobbstyle documentary. He said between radio and the labels they were telling rappers that they cant curse like that until they saw the profits profanity brought in courtesy of gangster rap...Once they saw that the gatekeepers were like "fukk it...Do you".....But if we keeping it a buck. It was the new breed of NYC rappers in the 90's who were using profanity....The 80's heads pretty much stayed the same way. The way u worded that question was as if the 80's heads all of a sudden went profanity crazy and that wasnt the case. New decade...New breed of rappers.

...but while you laughing, niccas was really doing that!

So you think it was "parody", but it was real life...

You talking about the 90's....The topic is about the 80's. And that jab at Bambatta has nothing to do with the topic.

1. So just because they didn't have no PA labels on the disc means they weren't cussing? Nicca please.

1b. PA labels came about because of Prince, not "regional rap".

2. So this all y'alls "gatekeepers" fault? Go make threads about them, then.

"Dr. Dre, Ice-T, and all the rest
all the money that we making, don't fault the West
because we ain't the ones who created rap -
but when we made the chit, we made it phat."

1. Now u trolling. I didnt say shyt about PA labels. I said PA "levels"......2 different things. Post #87.....you're quoting a poster who says the exact same thing and u ignored him. I'm not talking about no damn sticker. I'm talking about the over the top profanity 2 Live Crew and NWA were doing.

2. What the hell are u talking about. U asked a question, I answered. I never said it was an issue or a problem. Matter fact....that makes zero sense because u are talking about what 90's NYC rappers were doing and the topic is about the 80's.

You keep going off topic to talk about irrelevant shyt. Its as if u are trolling. Remember those rocks I suggested u should kick?
