I feel like East Coast rappers didn't curse because they were all nice guys who were signed to white owned record labels and these cac record label owners went about shyt the wrong way in trying to have rap appeal to white audiences by having every rap record be a clean version. 
All East Coast rap records in the 80's went wood anyway and didn't sell shyt. Jerry Heller had foresight because he knew teenage white Amerikkka wanted an authentic soundtrack of ghetto rebellion. The infamy of the FBI warning is what got NWA to sell. Art at its best is supposed to be controversial and offend people. Something to piss off white parents while putting a mainstream spotlight on the real life problems going in a then virtually unheard of city called Compton, CA. Also, West Coast rap was vulgar from jump. Too $hort basically invented dirty rap. But the effects of West Coast rap are still evident today. What rapper you know since 1993 don't curse?

World class wrecking cru was a dj crew bank rolled by Lorenzo.
Lorenzo was the club owner on thar r n b shyt trying to captilize off the trend.
Produced some songs in his studio and the cats who where his employees as artist made to rap.
It was slighty touched on in Straight outta Compton when Dre complained about the marching band jackets he and Yella had to wear.
