Bruh we just beat a team that will be adding Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving next year. This win means nothing. You think anyone is bragging about development when beating the 2019-2020 Warriors? Either we get a top pick and can package it with some of these young players for a legit star or we draft one. The 2nd best player on a title contending team is not currently on this roster, unless it's Trae.
These dudes are in their first 3 years in the league ,way too early to make these declarations.

I want a championship in my city. I’m not satisfied with this roster and I’m not sure why so many other people in this thread are. We need great young talent across the board, no one should feel like this is a finished product and that we don’t need to add young talent at the top of the draft

nobody said they were satisfied with the roster, just that right now the Hawks are in wait and see mode with the young core, which is a different stage than the last year we had Bud. Playoff talk wasn’t realistic but if they were to go on a crazy run then that means the young core is playing consistently good ball and we could look forward to being even better next year with more seasoning and adding more vets.

I don't understand what's so hard to grasp about someone wanting to see Cam and Dre drop 20 a night the rest of the year instead of throwing up bricks and looking like busts. The last all homegrown top 5 pick core to do shyt was the Thunder. Lakers ain't do shyt, Cavs ain't do shyt(with those picks), Sixers not doing shyt, etc. nikkas talking out both sides of they neck about how the odds changed but still worried bout more pingpongs. We should've got, what, 3rd last year? Ended up 8th. But nikkas would rather see that again than to see the young nikkas already on the squad shine. It's preposterous :unimpressed:

Who in this draft is anyone giving up a star for? Better yet, who in this draft project to be better than Trae, Cam, Hunter, Collins, or even Capella?

Don't cop out. name names. If you're telling me we need to tank that means you've spotted someone that project to be better than them :unimpressed:

Collins is the 2nd best 3pt shooting big in the league right now at 39% (KAT is number 1). He will get the max or close to it easy.

Its preposterous to want to acquire top talent for one of the worst teams in the NBA? :dwillhuh: And your reasoning is because 3 other teams didn’t have success drafting that we should abandon the idea of actively trying to get more talent? Huh? :dwillhuh:

And who doesn’t want to see Cam & Hunter get better? All I’ve said is that playoff talk is idiotic for one of the worst teams in the NBA, I told all of y’all before this year started that this is a developmental year, so why wouldn’t I want to see the young squad develop now? They’re about where I predicted they’d be

Who said the Hawks were in wait & see mode though? The Hawks are constantly evaluating this roster and they’re in trying to get better mode. I’d put money that Schlenk isn’t looking at this team and saying “welp I’ve got my starting 5 for the next 5 years” or “there’s nobody in this draft who projects to be better than anyone on this current roster”. His job is to acquire talent and make this team better. I trust that he grasps that even if several members of this board don’t

wait and see mode is no different than evaluating the roster. You’re just arguing semantics at this stage.

anyway, we had a top 5 worst record in the nba last year and still ended up 8th. Just enjoy the show these boys put on and let the moves that need to be made come when it’s time to make them

You’re missing my point. Schlenk and Hawks decision makers aren’t evaluating this roster thinking they have 5 starters for the next 5 years or that they don’t need to acquire the best talent available. My whole point is acquire and develop talent. That’s it. It’s not about looking at this roster and thinking we’re set when we don’t know that yet

He pretty much said the bolded during the magic game. He was interviewed by nique and bob during the 3rd quarter. But then again, you probably didnt even watch the game:mjgrin:

@Kaedus

Top kids I like for us are Issac Okoro and Deni Avdija for non-PG prospects.

I'm biased for Deni as he turned in a HOF sharpshooter in my 2K franchise :mjgrin: I see him being what Evan Turner was supposed to be coming out, but with a better shot. Okoro got skills but I'm not sure where exactly he fits with this squad as I doubt he could play the 4 and I'd rather add a vet swingman to the rotation

Nope I actually got home and saw the 4th Q. What I did see in its entirety was that we’re only 11 games back of the Nets in the loss column for that highly coveted 8 seed. Hawks in prime position for a playoff run now :mjgrin:
