He didn't turn heel, he just had an insurance policy. How do you expect him to walk into the biggest event of the year, in his home state, and not have an insurance policy? 
He didnt care about being legitimate...a win in the main event was enough and McMahon was his insurance plan...Rock had him pinned outright until McMahon pulled him off.

whats crazy about that feud austin had with rock leading to his heel turn is that rock would turn around and do the same shyt to him at WM19 when he also had his last epic heel run as hollywood rock; The whole being obscessed with getting a mania victory over austin finally.
