give some examples, i'd argue that being blindly patriotic at a young age is not a good thing, if anything it seems like it would make that person more likely to be xenophobic
Patriotism encourages commonality and cohesiveness within a people, which is a necessary part of maintaining and protecting a country from threats. Xenophobia is an issue but I feel like people actively discourage racism which is the real issue anyway. I don't feel as though American patriotism encourages racism. If anything, it discourages such. If you mean that patriots tends not to give a fukk about other countries, well, good.
