Yeah when I say Arab, I'm using it the way we say it in France ("arabe"), which in everyday language has basically synonymous with Maghrebin/North Africans. Didn't even realize it wasn't used correctly (they refer to themselves as arab too so ). Props on the breakdown tho
Thanks and its no problem. The thing with mainstream media is that it tries to see North Africa as an extension of Arabia and so people think of North Africans are Arabs even though their culture is diverse. The only real Arabs are the ones from the peninsula. Syrians and other people of the Levant aren't really Arabs and I heard(I could be wrong) Iraqis aren't really Arabs. Arabization didn't just affect Africa but other parts of the world.
But yeah North Africa/Maghreb is usually associated with Arabs. If people knew how Arabs treated and thought of Berbers during the medieval period.
