:dwillhuh: 2 completely different situations. If anything you could argue he should have fouled there, but really no reason for Duncan to be on the floor. Heat are taking a three, so they have to switch everything and if they miss its probably going to be a long rebound.

Simple question in that situation, guarding Bosh, you'd rather have Diaw guarding him and crashing the boards or Duncan? :comeon:

Duncan is a top 3 defensive big man of all time, there's NO way, reason, or logic in you leaving him off the court...NONE

That was the second possession in a row where they failed to grab the rebound and it led to Miami points and Duncan wasn't on the floor.

leaving Manu in was an awful decision no matter how you slice it - dude looked LOST out there the entire game. He single-handedly lost that game for them, giving up a bunch turnovers for easy fast breaks for Miami. Let's not forget that dude was a non-factor for that whole series. There was no reason for Pop to believe he was suddenly gonna turn it around... and...

That's actually not true at all. He had a huge game in game 5 where he gave us 24 points and 10 dimes

Duncan at 37 is not Duncan in his prime. He doesn't have the same lateral quickness. I'd rather force a contested shot and gamble my guys can corral the rebound then risk giving up a wide open look to the shooters Miami has.

There are some real clowns on this board I tell you. The Spurs weren't even supposed to be in the Finals. Also people keep saying having Duncan out was a mistake like that's a guarantee that Duncan would have gotten the rebound.

Popovich actually coached a great finals. That defense he had on Bron and Wade was incredible. A bad rebound bounce and a miracle three pointer from Ray Allen doesn't change that. Sometimes you just can't beat fate.

Also to add, he can't shoot the free throws for Leonard and Ginobli, they're on there own with that one.

Timmy still is an elite rebounder though

Of course, but like I said misses off threes often go long anyway. The argument Timmy should have been in is valid, but to say it was some huge mistake by Pop is just Monday Morning quarterbacking.

bruh he had 16 rebounds up to that point; you can't sit him down. Plus he'd be guarding a hobbled Bosh when he just had quick breather himself. This wasn't a minute left in the game, this is the FINAL Heat possession.

:what:

he scored a TOTAL of 30 pts in games 1-4. We're talking about a guy that committed 8 turnovers all by himself. As a coach, you're gonna keep him in because he had 1 good game and ignore the other 4 horrible performances?

No, you keep him in there because he's proven time and time again that he makes plays even if he's not having a good game scoring. At any given time could do something that benefits the team like take a big charge. As far as the turnovers go, you just live with that in Manu.

as much as the players missed two free throws and couldnt grab a rebound, that finals series is on pop. duncan should have been out there and you tell your players to foul the second the ball is inside the 3 point line. pop mentioned afterward how green released down court after lebron's first brick allowing him a wide open look after the offensive rebound. thats something that should have been addressed in the huddle.
of course that doesnt overshadow all hes accomplished, but that was an epic choke job due to the spurs stupidity.

Or, instead of missing free throws we make them and win it all. Then no one ever brings up Manu turning the ball over so much in game 7 because there is no game 7:manny:

Its as simple as the Spurs make their free throws in game 6 they're the champs. Aint no coaching adjustment for that :heh:

:deadmanny: @ Kawi Leonard being one of those players that missed a free throw....

:dead: @ Kawi being a 64% free throw shooter in the playoffs last year and Pop leaving Gary Neal on the bench who is a 80% + free throw shooter

:deadrose: @ the only thing you need to do is make free throws to seal the game (the heat HAD to foul), and you not having your BEST free throw shooters on the court...

This is coaching 101..... pee wee league shyt....

You dudes don't watch games, you just skim through it.

nikkas in here trynna clown me cus I said I would've won that title, and they don't even know what the hell was going on in the game:heh:

My basketball IQ is so high, I see shyt yall clowns don't even see....:ahh:

Now if you look through the thread.... You'll see about 6 to 7 different examples of how Pop lost this series, from VARIOUS posters....

Crazy thing is, there is still about 4 or 5 more not listed:leon:

Pop gave this fukking series away and it's one of the biggest tragedies in sports history.
