In all seriousness, at what point do we start saying Alchemist is the greatest producer ever?

puts out so much music, yet none of it is weak

If you ain't think ALC the GOAT all I gotta say is "It must be the drugs that got you saying crazy shyt."

premo hasnt made a beat i really enjoyed in years :manny:, nobody wants to use 90's sounding beats in 2014 thats why.

ill take current madlib also over him.
Dude there's seriuosly only like 9 active producers that have their own identity :bryan:Do you really wanna have this conversation?

Mac Miller rapped over a Lord Finesse beat on one of his signature tracks..

Hitboi did a 90s style beat for 1train

Kanye collaborated with mostly 90s producers on MBDTF (including Mike Dean).

Harry Fraud thinks like a boom bap producer..

The sound is still in demand, you just have to do it your own way. Weve reached a phase in music where there's so many streams of influence to draw from, there's no such thing as an "in" sound, Artistic sensibility is what counts :manny:

that shyt isnt in demand unless your still listening to krs-one, or some other :flabbynsick: nikkas.

to each own though.

if i currently wanted a album or lp with strictly on producer i would go with:

alch
madlib
RZA

over him.

Im talking about 90s hip hop not 80s
krs still uses the 90's sound as well as other people from that era.

even nas dosent rap over those dated ass beats, now them being sampled is a entire different story, not saying there not classic timeless beats but they just dont sound right in this generation depending on who is rapping on them.

the last album i enjoyed over 90's sounding production was ob4cl2.

What do you mean they're classic timeless beats, but they don't sound right?

Madlib, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, J Dilla, Q-Tip and RZA are my top 6.

He's probably in the top thirteen along with Kno, 9th Wonder, Lord Finesse, Exile, El-P & RJD2

i like that he really started focusing on making whole albums/tapes. i've always checked for him but to be frank, for a wile i had him in my "2nd tier" of fav producers. ever since Covert Coup though...and also That'll Work with 3-6
