if i'm TNA i'm out there tryna promote these guys on an AEW much as I can :dead:

All that does is make AEW want to sign them, and I can't imagine anyone is going to be willingly signing with TNA over AEW if an offer is made. At most let them work indie shows with AEW guys that might get shown in clip form on BTE or Road To shyt. Do not let your talent work an AEW show if you want to keep that talent should be the mind set of every company with any kind of TV right now.

Cosign. AEW is Mr Steal Your Talent right now.

However.

It's real fukking hard for your talent to rationalize this stance when you're telling them no, but the guy who's supposed to be helping put together next Friday's show is wrestling on the same damn show to pick up a payday. It's just a real bad look.

Last year when I watching various indy shows The Lucha Brothers (Phoenix, and Pentagon) broke me, I saw them on 3 different promotions, being partners, enemies, unrelated. shyt made the talent pool seem small seeing the same guys showing up.

That's because the talent pool is small now :yeshrug:

Between WWE never releasing people but signing 6 or 7 people every couple months, ROH doesn't let their guys work anywhere else in the US (except PWG), & AEW people are going exclusive that aren't already in September/October, the indie talent pool is small as shyt right now & as soon as anybody gets any real buzz they get signed.

:mindblown:Exactly. Like why would I look at a wrestling promotion, when the same fukking wrestlers are wrestling in other promotions? Even the territory days were more organized than the indies. I just miss the days where if I wanted to see a RVD match, I can check him out on ECW. If I wanted to watch Stone Cold kick ass, I can watch the WWF. If I wanted to watch Goldberg spear a jobber, WCW on Mondays :ld:. But nope, Pentagon in 20 promotions within a month so I can't catch a legit match due to over-saturation. Joey Ryan dikk throwing in 10 promotions while his "3 star match" is on DDT. Like WTF:dahell:
Rob did few stints on WWF during 1997 while in ECW, however I get what you are saying hence why I don't tune in to any indy shows due to it being oversaturated with the same guys. But I guess dudes appear on multiple indy shows for mainly financial reasons.

To be fair, cross promotion is one thing but when you have billboards of a wrestler that's feuding with another wrestler in another promotion, while that promotion got that same wrestler in a storyline involving a wrestler that's booked for 10 shows from different promotions................:dahell:why should I watch this shyt again?

I get where your coming from but nothing in the world is gonna get some folks to start watching impact there better off levering someone like cage then sitting at their current level. You can't be major league if your not in the game. Like I'm sure they could of made some deal for them to use cage in exchange for some promotion and use of the bucks or some one on AEWs roster on a special or PPV.
Cage being in some filler battle royal does Impact no good. It actually makes them look bad that their champion is in that match.
Now if they could have worked out a deal where Cage was wrestling in a singles or tag match that mattered I am sure they would have been cool wit it.
But letting their world champ be just another body in a battle royal would have been stupid.

Wouldn't be surprising if AEW buys Impact sometime in the future and uses it as a developmental territory.

Brian Cage is supposed to be one of their top guys he shouldn't be taking part in some inconsequential match in another promotion anyway. I prefer these shows sign these guys to exclusive deals. I know that's the appeal to most indie fans is these guys can go from promotion to promotion wrestling other hot acts but it ain't for me. Last year when I watching various indy shows The Lucha Brothers (Phoenix, and Pentagon) broke me, I saw them on 3 different promotions, being partners, enemies, unrelated. shyt made the talent pool seem small seeing the same guys showing up.

The battle royal was to determine the first championship match though and it featured 4 or 5 championship contenders. This was bigger deal than your average battle royal. I think MLW is playing this one right let there guys appear on shows but lock up there talent.utimatly if they want to be in AEW they will leave anyways but why not help your talent and brand gain exposure cage getting thrown out of battle royal isn't gonna make impact loose 50,000 viewers. But they need to find away to get some traction before it's too late.

I also think the days of exclusivity for every single person on a roster is gone for the most part. I think AEW will have a 20-30 guys but will cycle people in and out to create fresh matchups and storys. Honestly unless your WWE and have built your own ecosystem you should probably be doing this anyways.

its bush league bro. having your champion get tossed in a pre-show battle royal amongst a bunch of jabronies. plus, didn't they make it a number one contenders match after the pac/page match got cancelled?

MLW isn't as big as impact, and doesn't have the history. besides, I don't remember any MLW talent being on this show anyway.
MJF is an AEW wrestler at this point. he BEEN signed with them. hes just continuing the MLW stuff until the TNT show launches.

edit: ace romero is all I can think of.

Darby, and Pillman Jr, are also MLW guys. Honestly MLW is at the same level or at least a little bigger than Impact at this point. MLW is on Bein sports and YouTube while impact is on twitch right now and the pursuit channel(a channel I never heard of and don't have on my firestick or cable package:dead:) there trying to be major league but there just not right now sometimes you have to take a step back to grow and let's be real Cage could of had a good showing and slipped on a banana peal and lost and he wouldn't of been hurt.

I forgot pillman was in there. you right. but hes not a main eventer. I bet you if it was teddy hart or tom Lawlor, MLW officials would step in.

since when is darby an MLW guy?

nobody has Bein sports. plus impact gets WAY more views on youtube than MLW.
and they have their own streaming service.

im not arguing that impact is still a top-tier company. theyre just a lot bigger than MLW. and I say this as one of the main ambassadors for MLW on this site.

what good showing could brian cage possibly have in that battle royal??

My fault not Darby i was thinking of Jimmy havoc :lolbron:. But it's pro wrestling if they wanted cage to look dominant he could of but I'm gonna agree to disagree on this but I will say have to hunt for impact while I can just turn MLW on if I'm at home.
