Game is actually reviewing great almost everywhere and has been on sale for $30 for a while.
I think the Ubisoft name and the seemingly kiddie art direction is making people not even consider this game. Doesn’t help that it released alongside some heavy hitters this season and this game didn’t seem to be marketed very well.

Yeah Ubisofts timing for the release was very strange. They released it about a month after two of their own big name titles and in the same month as CP2077. It’s like they released the game just to get it out and move on which is strange cause it’s probably the best game they released this year.

ppl were downing/dismissing the game from jump (myself included) as a BOTW clone...plus there was a late name change too I think...it was supposed to originally titled ‘gods and monsters’ so it might be possible that ppl may not know it’s the same game

I’m just talking from a business standpoint. There was very little adverting done and it was kind of treated as a step child release. Heck the only reason I even tried the demo was because I watched someone stream it and they were having a lot of fun. The average person probably didn’t even know the game was out until they saw it for purchase.

Ordered a PS4/5 copy for store pickup at bestbuy.
$30 for a game getting great reviews everywhere. I’ll bite.

I copped the physical version for 30 bucks at Gamespot last week. I'm enjoying this game so much more than Cyberpunk. Its like a combination between BOTW and Assassin's Creed. Also, this game is surprisingly challenging. I wasn't expecting that. Those damn wraiths....smh. You better have your shyt together

I'm not saying it's a better game but like I said in another post that it does a good job of being fun. As good as CP is, it feels like a chore at points. I don't expect many others to feel the same way but this game gives me the same feeling I had when Beyond Good and Evil came out and that was my game of the year.

Played about an hour last night. The kiddie presentation is strong throughout and even heavy in the narrative. Definitely an Assassin’s Creed / Breath of the wild vibe going. I’m not a fan of his jumping yet.

About 15 hours in and still got a lot left to do. Enjoying this game a lot and thinking about trying to 100% it.

dunno if I’ll like the humorous approach they take...quite often in video games the humor misses its mark with me when they try to make the dialogue “funny”...granted uncharted 4 was a “recent” exception

I’m actually chuckling out the gate already...I forgot how much I used to be into greek mythology...only started playing a little bit...game is definitely gonna rob me of some hours

ended up switching to a male character...couldn’t buy into the female voice or her being on that ship with them during wartime...plus it’s possible I’m a little sexist...my dude looks like the prince of persia with locks

game got fun immediately once I got the axe and wings...I tried to explore thinking it was like BOTW white you can pretty much go/do whatever as long as you use some ingenuity but with this game you more so need to do certain things first and maybe can do more exploration once you obtain certain items...it’s fun so far tho

I haven’t run into any areas I couldn’t get to except in a couple of dungeons. That said, some enemies would one-shot me cause I had barely any health. And yeah like you said, the game is fun.

I was in an area where I had to cross water and I kept drowning from running out of stamina...I thought I could climb the pole in the water and kept trying and dying...eventually a hint came up on the right side of the screen that said something along the lines of I may not be ready for this area yet

game is way deeper than I expected...I didn’t think they’d be so many parts to it...the only thing that “hurts” it imo is it’s a clone of so many different games that nothing feels new or “wows” me but it is a cool game I can pick up, relax and play for an hour and two
