When the 2nd big isn't a glorified G-Leaguer like Luke Kornet or Noah Vonleh.

I'll take G-League with size over Small ball every day of the week

Celtics had a 12 point lead with Horford on the floor. Put him on the bench and put in Grant and Hauser as your "bigs". Then it led to getting out rebounded, jacking up 3's that wasn't falling, and letting unlimited drives by the Cavs a possibility

Its game 7 of the season, and you're already putting Vonleh and Kornet in the dog house? :dead: :dead: :dead:

Horford was definitely in the game when they blew that 12-pt lead in the 3rd quarter. The starters built the lead, then blew it all in the same stretch.

Vonleh got plenty of chances at PT and all he did was foul and fumble passes. Kornet is a big useless oaf

Celtics don't have the personnel to consistently run two big lineups, Horford-Time Lord works because they complement each other perfectly on both ends and are not a liability on either end

7 games into the season is not "plenty of chances" breh lol. No matter how you slice it

Celtics are what, 3rd in total 3 point attempts in the league. That's crazy. Barely any mid-range shots, not even any drives to the basket outside of on the fast break. That's horrific. And Tatum playing the 4 puts the team at a severe disadvantage

There's a reason Vonleh was playing in China last year and hasn't been a rotation player in the NBA in years. He is not the savior.

Defense isn't even why the Celtics lost tonight. The Cavs are an elite offense and we just held them below their season average in points with poor shooting percentages and double digit turnovers.

Tatum & Brown shooting 38% with 9 turnovers played a much bigger part in the Celtics losing than Noah Vonleh or Luke Kornet not getting spot minutes.

Wanting Vonleh to play = I think he's the savior. Come on breh lol

If you're gonna go that route, then you can talk about the Heat that got Max Strus and Gabe Vincent out of the G-League and were a 1 seed in the EFC

Celtics had poor shooting percentages because of them jacking up 3's playing Small Ball. I guess mid-range shots and driving the lane aren't a concern. Got it lol

Hardly comparable. Strus & Vincent had never gotten real opportunities in the NBA before Miami. Vonleh was a lottery pick that’s been on like 8 teams.

Breh you basically arguing that not giving Vonleh & Kornet more PT is swaying the outcome of games

Celtics have been shooting a high volume of 3s regardless of who is on the court, if you want to criticize the shot selection then that’s fine bc I agree they settle for 3s too much, but “small ball” isn’t the culprit for that

No breh I'm advocating SIZE to be on the floor. But you're reducing it to Kornet and Vonleh like I got my pomp pomps raised for them lol. Any size on the floor is better than Small Ball. It is a gimmicky style of play that isn't sustainable for 48 minutes. If Bruno Fernando or Moses Brown was still on the team, I would advocate them to be on the floor as well

And Small Ball isn't even as effective as it was 5-10 years ago. That isn't even in style anymore. Every contending team has a legit big on the floor

Warriors got Looney and Wiseman
Nuggets got Jokic
Sixers got Embiid
Bucks got Giannis, Porter, and Lopez
Lakers got AD
Bulls got Vucevic
Suns got Ayton
Clippers got Zubac
Cavs (who we just faced twice lol) has Jared Allen and Mobley
Heat got Adebayo
etc etc

But that’s the personnel we have, so if you’re advocating to play bigger lineups, you’re advocating for them. Mazzulla can’t play someone that’s injured or not on the roster.

And size for the sake of size is pointless if they can’t contribute. We gotta play the best players that give us the best chance of winning.

Celtics decided to not jack up 3's, drove into the paint relentlessly, and hit more mid range shots. And always had a center in the game and never played small ball... And they won the game

Lowkey, Celtics let one of the best coaches go… Will Hardy has the Jazz playing out of their damn minds.

The timing with Ime sucked. If the front office found out earlier, Will could have been promoted. But, Joe is a Brad guy so maybe Will would be gone anyway.

One thing Hardy would have for sure done is mirror Ime Udoka's offensive and defensive principles
