They forgot how to play defense, Bad game for Marcus Smart he took too many I’ll advised shots, Tatum stopped being aggressive in the 4th quarter/OT, JB was overagressive at times leading to 6 turnovers and we can’t have Luke Kornet getting 26 minutes in a game, I think Vonleh/Blake Griffin could’ve gotten more burn. I know Grant Williams was out but Brad refuses to sign one of the available bigs out there. We got out rebounded AGAIN, I’m sure a guy like Dwight or Hassan Whiteside will be useful to grab some rebounds and bang(pause) in the paint.

Didn't see the game but why did Vonleh only play 7 minutes?

I think it's Joe Mazzulla's addiction to playing Small-Ball

For 2 straight games, we have faced 2 teams with a huge size advantage, and the gameplan is to play small and hope to outshoot them?

The irony is that Luke Kornet actually played decent this game. And when Vonleh and Luke were in the game together, or playing with Al Horford, is when they were up 15 points against the Cavs. Then for some reason he went back to the small ball routine. It makes the team's Defense AND Offense suck

The Cavs are gonna be scary when everyone gets healthy. The C's should have won this one though. Up double digits, then completely fell apart on both ends. Tatum had one of the worst 32/7/4 on 71% TS games I've ever seen.

The Cavs jumped off to an early double digit lead by bullying us, Mazzulla adjusted by playing two bigs and we came back and went up double digits.

Then the Cavs adjusted and started sending hard doubles all second half when he got the ball and tried to force the other players beat us and that gamble worked.

Doesn’t help that Mitchell & LeVert seem to always lull us even when they were in Utah & Brooklyn

This "adjust to whatever the opposing team is adjusting to" is such a Brad Stevens philosophy. Its taking me back to 2021 when Celtics looked so disjointed offensively and defensively

This is why I loved Ime's philosophy, "We play our style of play, no matter what". Double big works wonders for this team. It allowed Tatum, Brown, and Smart to have size advantages at the 1, 2, and 3 and made our defense potent. Seeing Tatum playing PF full time makes my eyes bleed lol

I think Grant should start when he gets back

This new Celtics is gonna take some getting used to

Went from last year being one of the slowest paced teams on offense..... To a top 5 offensive team that shoots 45% from 3 :dahell::mjlol::blessed:

And Hauser is really surprising me. He's legit :ehh:

Couple of :mjpls:cac comments from tonight's game:

Kornet its kinda like Hauser on defense in that he knows where he needs to be and plays the angles. Vonleh is more like Nesmith-energetic but all over the place.

So Kornet, the lumbering white, stuff, who wears steel toe boots, is like Hauser, the other white guy, on defense. They both are smart guys who know where to be and play the angles despite their lack of athleticism. Noah Vonleh, the black man, is like Nesmith, the black man, in that they have a lot of energy but are morons. :mjpls:

Kornet processes the game very well on both ends of the floor, just like Hauser. But Hauser is a sniper and Kornet is 7'2". I've really like Kornet's defensive positioning this game as well as last game.

Maybe I'm a sucker for high IQ, play the game the right way, kind of guys. But I really like both of them. Pretty clear to me Kornet is >> Vonleh/Griffin
.

Here we go again with Kornet and how he "processes the game" like Hauser, both white guys. This bozo likes Kornet's smart defensive positioning. He loves "high IQ play" and guys who play the "right way." He just loves him some Kornet and Hauser and it's crystal clear as the cac driven snow, that Kornet the cac is much greater than the dumb nikka Noah and Blake. :mjpls:

Team needs to step it up in the rebounding department. No one boxes out. Tommy is rolling over in his grave watching them. Grant should play big minutes at PF cuz Jayson too short and skinny to defend bigger guys. Kornet, Griffin, and Vonleh are platoon guys at Center. All are too slow to play PF.

This team sorely needs a Power Forward, that is their biggest hole IMO. After the end of this season, would love for the Celtics to go all in on someone like Obie Toppin, Sabonis, or Jerami Grant, a mobile PF

Horford at his age can't play PF full time anymore unless he has Time Lord playing next to him to clean up everything in the paint
