16 team playoff makes the most sense.

11 Conference winners get in and than you have a committee for 5 at large bids

1st 8 games are played at home of the higher seed.

Final Four is played at the 4 major bowls

my issue is not all conference winner are the same so your leaving great teams out because they didn't win a weak conference.

We want to see the BEST teams play, not a team who wins a trash conference (wisconsin) (Louisville) or a team who wins a lesser conference, MAC, SUnbelt ETC.. it's robbery to put them in over a team like USC, OU, Oregon State etc...

Whats the point in playing in a confrence, it's to win it. Gives all the other schools something to play for and if you play in these big conferences guess, you get extra money thats why all these schools are whoring around

You don't think it'll help little schools recruit better too?

11 AQ winners +

At Large #1 : Notre Dame
At Large #2 : Florida
At Large #3 : Georgia
At Large #4 : Oregon
At Large #5 : LSU

Tough Luck for those other schools

Notre Dame (1) vs Tulsa (16)
Alabama (2) vs Arkansas St(15)

And so on and so forth and than you can get a 5 v 12 match up Oregon vs Boise St, or an NIU vs Stanford

Seed them in terms geography and possible next round opponent.

Yet somehow the student athletes in division 2 and 3 are able to cope with a playoff system.

D1AA aka FCS has a playoff system as well. It is a 20 team playoff this year but next year is expanding to 24 teams. The 4 team playoff coming to FBS in 2014 sucks because it is so small but its better than nothing. It will definitely expand in the coming years.

who cares about the little schools, i want the best matchup possible.
Tulsa Arky state don't belong in this playoff at the expense of a T&AM, LSU, USCetc...

You have to remember not all conferences are created equal so winning the sun belt shouldn't prompt you to be in the dance

8 team, big 5 conference champs+ 3 at large. Wouldn't interfere too much w/ finals, could have 2 weeks between games and still have your sacred New Years day bowls

This should not be ignored. The first post is missing the Conference Champs. You can't ignore them, as they'll HAVE to be included. Like it or not, Wisconsin with their 5 losses would have to be included.

no that would be the issue "not all conference champs are created equal" Winning a garbage conference shouldn't propell you into a spot.

I can name 6-7 SEC teams right now that would win the big 10. Wisconsin would be 1-7 0-8 in the SEC

lol, you know that would never, ever, EVER work right? You think that any of the Major Conferences would agree to anything that would in any way exclude their Conference Champ? Get the fukk outta here.

Take your SEC biased ass and hit the bricks with this nonsense.

the only conference that would gripe is the big east, but they're garbage anyway. Throw the MAC, Sunbelt, etc.. in the bushes. who cares about those teams.

It's no Bias, your telling me you wouldn't want to see the BEST teams play for and compete for a title

Thats why the SEC and Big 10 make a hundreds of millions of dollars a year.

Tulsa isn't seeing 25 million dollars a year to finish last in the Big 10 like Maryland is but they get a shot to win the National Title.
