I still like AZ's verse a bit more for the energetic flow he had and I guess it was kinda sorta lyrical miracle in a good way

But Nas had an incredible verse too. This is why I never thought it was a murder you on your own shyt kind of deal

It's not the verse that's better. It's the "out-the-gate-flow" that AZ brought that got people like "whoa". :pachaha:
Yes Nas had the better verse, but AZ's verse is not so far behind and that's fax.

"And my mentality is money-orientated
I'm destined to live the dream for all my peeps who never made it
"

That right there is nothing light breh. Especially when you remember that this was at the beginning of everything, so it's not like this was some rehashed bar or anything.

i disagree with you about the lyrical miracle part, AZ's verse was always crystal clear in meaning to me even on the first listen whereas Nas was probably more "lyrical miracle" than he was. I do agree with you about the flow though, AZ's blew me away right on the first listen.

"I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty, it's a blessing
The essence of adolescence leaves my body, now I'm fresh and
My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it
One quarter through life some Godly-like thing created
Got rhymes three hundred sixty five days annual plus some"

This part might be my favorite opening bars ever in rap.
Yeah I don't think I ever fully appreciated how good this shyt is :dwillhuh:

I used to think AZ killed him, but as the years went by, I've appreciated Nas verse even more. I don't think either out rapped each other, both verses are amazing. It comes down to preference.

If you wanna talk about one outrapping the other though, we can talk about how AZ clearly outrapped Nas on Mo Money, Mo Murda, Mo Homicide and How Ya Livin :smugbiden:

Nah, AZ got him, b :yeshrug:

Nas verse was dope though, just digested much more easier but AZ's verse is better brehs.

But AZ verse isn't the best verse on the album though...not even top 5.

Nothing really lyrical miracle about Nas who told a clear story and perspective.
Keep in mind I said AZ kinda sorta sounded Lyrical miracle just off the opening the bars and such
