I can't see wearing a pair of $500 headphones to the gym that aren't sweat and water resistant and aren't even for the gym.

I wear these to the gym everyday. Get you some cushion protecters.

Ive always worn over ear phones to the gym. Cant stand them in ear shyts

I didn't like in ears either till I got used to them. I use my Jabra Elite 10s everywhere now. Goy a laynard and keep them around my neck or on a keychain.
I also have these but I pretty much stopped using them once I got used to in ears.
They were designed to get sweat on them.

At this point in the game I'm not buying any headphones that aren't at least minimum IPX4 rated. I'm not gonna be out in the rain or in the gym and have to know I spent hundreds of dollars on some headphones and if they get wet they're probably toast. My Jabra Elite 8 Actives are IP68 and the case is IP54 and my Elite 10s are IP57.

You can swim in the Elite 8 Actives as long as you don't go over 5 feet deep for longer than 30 minutes.
