Watched this again last night and it was just as good as the first time seeing it. It's true, the quality does dip a bit in the second half but it's still a great movie over all.

Winter Soldier is a textbook example on how to make a classic sequel: take all the weak stuff of the first (Cap's fighting/action, some dialogue etc.) and make it better.

CA 1 & 2 is in the running for the best pair of comic book movies ever made.
isn't that just ur fanboyism betraying you tho? there is an argument to be made for TWS yeah, but the first avenger? in the conversation of best comic book movie ever? come on brah cant you put your love for the character aside and just that garbage for what it is

So. Cal
captain america is boring in general. One of the few heroes i cant stand. He's like batman with a shield minus all the gadgets

The funny thing is, I never loved/cared about the CA character and just started to appreciate him more because of the last movie.

I said taken as a 1-2 punch instead of stand alone movies, it should be up there as one of the best duo comic book films. If part 3 is similar to TWS, then it would be in the running for best trilogy.

I just watched this movie. It came out in 2011, but I didn't care.
I got the DVD free to borrow from the library. :lolbron:

Anyway, the movie was ridiculous in the beginning. They CGI'ed Chris Evans head on a smaller body before his transformation. It was cornball.
The middle of the movie was pretty good.
The ending was ridiculous. I fell asleep.

The Truth
Exactly why I didn't understand why people put this movie at the top of anything.

I was very uninterested... But it wasn't a bad movie. It was good for what it was... Helping kick off the Avengers

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I always enjoyed CA:TFA and never understood any of the problems that people had with it.

- World War 2 era period piece :ehh:
- Hugo Weaving's Red Skull :whoo:
- Tommy Lee Jones's Chester Phillips spitting quoteables :whew:
- That ending :wow:
- That after credits trailer :krs:
- "The Star Spangled Man With A Plan"

:banderas:

The second best Phase 1 movie behind Iron Man. Everything about it is solid from beginning to end.

first half was okay. Second half was awful.

Awful is a bit much but it definitely falls apart in the second hour. The build-up to Steve becoming Cap is the best storytelling Marvel has done in any of their movies, and then they just turn the whole thing into a sloppy montage of action scenes.
