For me, it didn't work for a number of reasons.Okay I finished it. The ending kind of ruins it. Felt like something someone trying too hard to be poignant would do.

We've already had this pop culture reference surge of Oklahoma! in Watchmen, and with the whole musical/Broadway renaissance lately (which I'm indifferent towards), it ultimately takes away from its novelty and makes it feel like a cheap and convenient parallel. That's something that I've never felt after watching a Kaufman film, which is a shame because there's a whole lot to like about it.
