I hope he's getting warmed up because he hasn't gotten much better in the last 4 years.

Obviously not of all time but dude is legit. I've seen him live on a few occasions and he's even better in person. He does things in the ring I haven't seen before. An innovator in my book.
This. Seeing him live changed my opinion of him a lot, his Octopus Hold on Ishii was the most intense rope-break spot I've ever seen live. Obviously a large part of that is Ishii's phenomenal selling but ZSJ more than did his part to make it feel like he was bringing Ishii to the brink of death.

He's not the best of all time, particularly because of his selling, but hell if he doesn't believe it no one else will. You can ask James Harden if he's the best SG of all time and he'll say yes, and even though we all know it's not true that doesn't mean he isn't really damn good.

He had his chance to shine in the USA in the big leagues and he underwhelmed. Period.
He wasn't ready. He still isn't but he's closer.

The fact is, in the American Indy's you don't learn psychology at all. This Japan run is incredibly valuable. He will be a ready but before g1 he was basically a LESS convincing and slower Dean malenko.

I will say he has definitely improved working in Japan, but like you say he still isn't ready for the big leagues.
