Agreed. Snap was a shytty era but Fabo was far ahead of his time. Quite a few of people’s faves are eating off his style and energy
I think y’all take shyt too far .. even when shyt is a fad I listen to what I wanna listen to .. I mean I was like h.s, middle school when this snap shyt was out but I still was listening to nun but weezy jeezy, boosie and wop.. ppl just be tryna listen to what’s hot instead of what they like .. weird

It was a fad, but a fad that was everywhere. Post-05 mainstream/charting rap pretty much hit a garbage apex between 06-10. Also, Wayne had his fair share of trash too, and was basically the founder of it.

Snap was fun if you were in college and going to parties.

I feel the brand of music that originally had no genre name at all.
that future with that chiffon slipper wearing rnb exec hijacked the entire direction, content and genre. By re-pigeon-holing us all into the doldrums of the prison industrial economy with a vocally synthesized music medium.
that originally was never this opposing. Nor threatening and originally came across as harmless. Yet not this degradative at all.
past certain group dynamics, content and lack of overall cultural awareness. Which originally were not as extreme and cliche as they are now.
moving forward Elem years later.

this genre and the next deviation were completely hijacked.

the shyt is despicable.

That would be relevant if we were talking music in it’s current 2020 state. We are talking before the initial start of the social media boom. Music in that era was BET, MTV, the radio, and limewire

Most TERRIBLE era Hip Hop has ever known. That era is the pure unadulterated reason why to this day I will NEVER listen to the radio. I find all my music on my own or from certain website recommendations.

When Nas said Hip Hop Is Dead I know he wasn’t purely talking about the South, but good LORD did them nikkas need that wake up call. Souljah Boy caught the brunt of the blame but not even he was as bad as them snappin heathens:scust:
