I'm sorry but has there actually been a worse president than Trump?

Started to rack my brain a few minutes ago as I was reading the wiki @newarkhiphop shared about George Washington's dentures and thinking about pre WW2 presidents and their evils and bigotry and I think Trump still might have it.

I'm usually not one for these kinds of threads but lettuce discuss

Andrew Jackson and George H.W Bush immediately come to mind.

Like objectively speaking? Herbert Hoover had a reputation that was in the shytter until after the Nixon fiasco, but even he was relative to other presidents, a good person. Just utterly inept as a leader of a country especially economical

Buchanan was trash, early 1900s were trash. Mostly do nothings politically. 45 will be regarded at the worst all around president and maybe even western world leader. His only good quality as a human being was his charisma, and thats been gone since his first campaign.

Trump is among the dumbest, but his people keep him away from important decisions. The rest is just normal republican shyt.

Bush was demonstrably more damaging, way less of a white supremacist though.
I'd like to know on an environmental level, if there's been anyone more intentionally destructive. He's the biggest threat to humanity and the planet itself which is crazy to think about.

Nah, that china's communist party.
I believe their carbon footprint is nearly double the US's with the burning of coal still popular.

Trump is unpredictable. Thats what makes him dangerous.

But he's relatively harmless.

The problem is that stupid people will listen to a stupid person with power.

It took Roland Martin to remind me of this, but Nixon wasn't COMPLETELY terrible for black people...and you know theres way worse than Nixon there. Of course he was a massive racist behind the scenes, but he did a lot with the federal government for civil rights.

shyt got weird until Reagan just elevated the fukkery to levels I don't even think Bush sans-9/11 would have topped.

I think 9/11 effectively ruined anything Bush wanted to try

In modern history? No.

The only ones that have an argument are Jackson and Buchanan.

Trump has, for the worse, challenged the order of government and limits of presidential power more than any other president in history. Not only that, but he has a fundamental lack of knowledge and respect for the position.

Most presidents seemed to have spent their contemporary lives chasing perfection in their fields to get the top job.

Trump cheated and basically played people's worst instincts and won. IDK if we've seen that before.

I can't keep saying he's intentionally destructive other than he's that stupid. He might say something attacking some institution without realizing what that institution is supposed to serve.
